The retro ball-shaped jar with a full perch ring is the most comfortable feeder here for the birds that do use it.

The short version
26 fl oz of glass with five metal flower ports and a 360° perch ring. Easy to fill, pleasant to look at, and limited by a single shared reservoir.
Buy it if
- Balconies and small patios
- Birds in your area that like to perch rather than hover
- Anyone who wants a wide-mouth bottle for easy cleaning
Skip it if
- High-traffic yards
- People who want compartmented nectar
Materials and build
Metal ports set into a glass ball, with a wire perch ring circling the base. The metal ports are a real upgrade over moulded plastic ones, which soften and warp in heat.
The gasket does its job. Mine has been swung around by wind without dripping.
The first day
Hummers took to the perch quickly. Perching birds drink longer, so you get a better look at them than you do at a hover-only feeder.
Filling is the easiest of the glass feeders here thanks to the wide mouth.
Living with it
Disassembly is quick and every part goes under the tap. In hot weather I rinse it twice a week.
The clear glass shows the level, which is helpful when the ports are on the far side.
Ports and traffic
Five ports on one reservoir is the ceiling here. Once you have more than a couple of regulars, birds queue and squabble.
There is a second problem with a shared bowl: if the nectar sours, all five ports are out of action at once. A compartmented spiral loses one chamber, not the whole feeder.
Weather and durability
No fading through a full summer, and the metal ports have not corroded.
As with any glass feeder, bring it in if a hard freeze is coming.
Price and value
The buy-box price changed between my two checks, so treat Amazon's listing as the only authority.
For a single-bird balcony it is a sensible pick. For a yard you want busy, it is not.
