The short version
A 32 oz teal glass bottle with a rustproof coated base, an included ant moat, and a small number of safe, smooth ports. Handsome and leak-free, but it feeds a couple of birds, not a crowd.
Buy it if
- You prefer glass over plastic on principle
- You want a feeder that reads as decor from the porch
- You only get one or two regular visitors
Skip it if
- You want several hummers drinking side by side
- You dislike unscrewing and inverting a full bottle
Materials and build
The bottle is thick coloured glass and the base is coated metal that has not rusted on mine. The listing calls the coating non-rust and after a season outdoors I believe it.
A rubber gasket sits between bottle and base. Seat it properly and it does not weep; get it crooked and you will find a sticky ring under the hook.
The first day
It took the better part of a week before a hummingbird committed to it, which is normal for a new feeder in an established yard.
Once found, it was reliable. The ports are smooth with no sharp edges, which the manufacturer makes a point of and which matters for a bird's tongue.
Living with it
Filling means unscrewing the bottle, filling it at the sink, and inverting the whole assembly over a towel. It is a two-hand job and I put it off more than I should have.
The included brush is genuinely useful, and the wide bottle mouth means you can reach the bottom.
Ports and traffic
There are only a few ports and they all ring one reservoir. In my yard that meant a single male claimed the feeder and chased the others into the hedge.
If your goal is watching a group feed, this design fights you. That is the main reason it slipped to second.
Weather and durability
Colour has not faded, and the glass shrugged off a hailstorm that cracked a plastic feeder on the same hook.
Glass does mean weight; use a solid hook, not a wire shepherd's crook in soft soil.
Price and value
Amazon's price for this listing moved between checks, so I am not going to quote a figure that may be wrong by the time you click.
Judge it on the listing page. As a glass feeder it is well made; as a way to fill your yard with hummers it is outclassed by the spiral.
